Best tacos birria I have EVER had. The place is tucked away inside a little market and has so many items in the menu that I want to try.
As Southern California natives living in Minnesota, we know good authentic Mexican food is hard to find. Little did we know that Austin, MN was hiding some of the best at Tienda Y Taqueria Guerrero! An unassuming spot, it's tucked in behind the Mexican grocery store. The store itself is tight and absolutely packed full of every ingredient you might need, along with a meat counter and full baked goods case. The store had a number of folks milling around, all speaking Spanish, which we considered a good sign. The grocery by itself is worth a look! In the back, you'll find the restaurant, a little place with around 10-15 tables. It's not fancy, but clean and serviceable. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. The gentleman behind the counter appeared to speak little English, but was able to understand our requests. I ordered a simple burrito with carnitas, and my husband ordered a carnitas plate. The food was excellent: fresh, not overdone (the simplicity of the ingredients allows the flavors to take center stage!), carnitas were some of the most flavorful I've had the pleasure of eating! We're still thinking about the food a week later, and are seriously considering another 2 hour drive to get there from our NW Minneapolis suburb!
Amazing food, served with a smile! Service was quick and efficient. The birria beef tacos are cooked to perfection, very flavorful, shells that are slightly crispy with just enough give they don't fall apart.

Authentic and delicious food. About as real as you can get. Store and bakery are awesome. Pastries look great. Butcher shop, too. This is very obviously where the locals go for Mexican food. Ordered sopes and received enchiladas... but they were delicious. Little bit of spice.
Amazing tacos and great service! Also since it's connected to a market you can grab pretty much any drink with your meal and any snacks on your way out. Awesome vibes!

within walking distance of the Spam Museum is a little Mexican market that houses a delightful restaurant. You will find Authentic , healthy, tasty Mexican food with great price. Would definitely go back.
